Gustav Reinhold Uebel jun. (1918–1981) took over the woodwind instrument workshop founded in Erlbach in 1910 from his father Gustav Reinhold Uebel sen in 1959. (1873-1960). His ancestors were also active in woodwind instrument making. Uebel learned to build the flute with his father and took the master's examination in 1947. The Uebel flutes were also popular in West Germany in the 70s and 80s. The concert flutes built in the Saxon tradition were carefully produced. A striking distinguishing feature of the concert flutes was the long plug connection on the foot piece, in which the dis sound hole led through the plug connection. In addition to concert flutes made of metal, concert flutes made of wood and metal Piccolos were built. In 1991, the West German company W. Schreiber & Söhne took over this part of the company to have clarinets started here; the flute construction was discontinued.
