Kurt Jacob (1896-1973) learned flute making from Carl August Schreiber Jr. and remained there from the beginning of his apprenticeship (1911) until his master craftsman's examination in 1922. That same year, he became self-employed as a flute maker.
In addition to his craftsmanship, he was a skilled flautist and played for 60 years in the Markneukirchen Municipal Symphony Orchestra, which was composed of local musical instrument makers. Kurt Jacob built concert flutes and piccolos in wood and metal.
